BSC/MD and MD PROGRAM

MD program

Students that have completed their Bachelor of Science degree are eligible to apply to our 4 year MD program. Please review the qualification page for more details.

BSC/MD program (6 year) vs MD program (4 year)

Students that have completed a competitive high school degree (preferably with sciences) are eligible to apply to our BSC/MD dual degree program. This six (6) year program combines an accelerated BSC degree with the MD degree.

The BSC/MD dual degree program combines an accelerated BSC degree program with the MD program. This is a combined six (6) year program. Students that apply to and are accepted to the BSC/MD dual degree program must maintain a 2.80 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) for automatic admission to the MD program.

As this is a combination of BSC and MD programs, this should be seen as a different pathway to becoming a Medical Doctor. The following chart compares this path with MBBS and MD pathways:

The 6 year dual degree program is taught at the following locations:

• The BSC por on is taught in Bangalore, India or in Curacao (Caribbean)
• The MD program is taught in at our Suriname campus:

1.The Basic Sciences (BS) are taught at our Suriname Campus (St. Vincentius us Hospital)

2.The Clinical Medicine (CM) is taught at our home hospital in Suriname (St. Vincentius us Hospital) or in other affiliated hospitals (*)

(*) Students have the possibility to complete the CM por on of the program in North America or Europe. Certain pre-qualifying condi ons apply and each loca on has certain costs associated.
