Students often come across both MD and MBBS when exploring medical education. Understanding the difference can help you make the right choice.
MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. It is commonly offered in countries such as the UK, India, and several parts of Asia. It is usually the first degree required to become a doctor.
MD stands for Doctor of Medicine. In some countries, it is considered a postgraduate degree. In others, it is offered as a primary medical qualification similar to MBBS.
