SAIU has been chartered by the Government of the Republic of Suriname and has teaching facilities in Suriname (South Americas) and Curacao (Dutch Caribbean).
SAIU has roots going back over 100 years. Located and integrated in the St. Vincentius Hospital in Paramaribo, Suriname, our campus and teaching method uses the available tool of a clinical setting to our advantage. Students make regular rounds in the hospital starting in the first year of medical school to get the feel for the clinical side of medical training. Our classroom curriculum is vigorous and demands full dedication from our students.
